Rothman Consulting works directly with human resources management, the
office of the General Counsel and the Board of Directors of mid-sized
to large corporations. We give corporate leaders business-critical information
before they commit to key personnel or investment decisions. Our goal
is to protect clients, and in some cases, their shareholders, from unforeseen
risk in the acquisition of business assets and executive talent.
Case Study
Our client considered adding a new managing director to their tightly
knit group of partners. While career experience would be an important
qualification for the new director, integrity and personal reputation
were essential to get the right fit with the client’s management
team.
Rothman Consulting evaluated one executive being recruited by our client.
He was a stellar candidate on paper, with impeccable educational credentials
and extensive experience turning around several businesses in his area
of expertise. However, our research and investigation uncovered information
suggesting that the executive had a belligerent management style that
alienated co-workers and clients. We also documented a track record of
potentially questionable business decisions.
In fact, in the wake of his last overseas management position, the executive
had been the target of several negative media campaigns by government
officials who questioned his large “golden parachute” compensation
package and alleged fiduciary irresponsibility in his operation of the
company.
Our investigation concluded that although the executive’s professional
qualifications were reasonably sound, and most of the accusations against
him appeared unfounded, his personal credentials on the whole were incompatible
with the partnership’s needs. We advised our client that the rewards
associated with hiring this talented candidate did not justify his potential
risks as a volatile manager on the firm’s senior management team.
Rothman Consulting combines practical business insight with in-depth
analysis when we assist clients with personnel decisions. By contexting
our findings, we make recommendations tailored to each client’s
needs and verified for reliability.
